The results of the COLCOT study  has been presented at the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions in Philadelphia, PA on November 16, 2019 and published in The New England Journal of Medicine and NEJM  journal.

Hammoud Hospital UMC contributed to this achievement and helped putting another international milestone for Medicine and Cardiology in Lebanon with its investigators Dr. Said Shaaban and Dr Samia Filali Zaatari.

Dental Humanitarian Mission 2019

Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center and MRC Clinics- Smiling Faces (owned by Dr. Fadi Antar, Pediatric Dentist) in partenrship with Sumar Lakhani Foundation (founded by Dr. Sumar Lakhani, an American Pediatric Dentist) organised a Dental Humanitarain Mission for Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian impoverished children from 6 to 10 years old. The mission took place from October 13th till the 15th at MRC Clinics Saida. 

The mission included:

Dr. Said Shaaban, Cardiologist & Dr. Samia Filali Zaatari, General Medicine- Internist the investigators as national coordinators of the Heart Failure article published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd on behalf of European Society of Cardiology.

“Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Mission II”

The Pediatric Cardiac Team of the Riley Hospital for Children in Indiana, USA headed by Dr. Mark Turrentine collaborated with the Pediatric Cardiac Team of Hammoud Hospital UMC headed by Dr. Issam Al Rassi for the second consecutive year to perform 11 pediatric cardiac surgeries at HHUMC during the week of April 29th.

Saida International Marathon 2019

Hammoud Hospital UMC provided the Medical Emergency Service at Saida International Marathon 2019. Two small tents and two ambulances were divided on the course, 1 huge medical emergency tent was on the final point. The Medical Team was headed by Dr. George Fhaily, Emergency doctor at HHUMC. More than 100 cases were managed by our Medical Team.

Breast Cancer Walkathon

2018/10/28

Hammoud Hospital UMC organized on Sunday, October 28th 2018 a Breast Cancer Walkathon under the title "نحنا حديك لتأخدي حقيك", as a call of action to ask the NSSF, COOP and some of the third party payers to cover financially  the breast reconstruction surgery for every woman who underwent mastectomy. 

All the participants were holding pink umbrellas and balloons from Hammoud Hospital UMC  to Saida international Stadium. The Star Joseph Attieh joined us at the finish line as he is the ambassador of the campaign. 

6th Hair Donation Campaign to support Women with Breast Cancer

Hammoud Hospital UMC organized on Friday, October 26th the 6th Hair Donation Campaign under the title "صار بدى قصة لندعم القصة" in collaboration with Rotaract Club of Saida and The Spot Mall Saida. Ali Chaker, Nader Shamieh and Ramzi ibrik, three hair dressers were present with their teams to support the cause. 

250 locks of hair were collected and sent to Karkafi Hair to be transformed into wigs. Hammoud Hospital UMC has a wide selection of wigs for any women suffering from cancer; any wig is given for free. 

 

Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign- Launching Event at Saida's Municipalty

Hammoud Hospital UMC launched on Monday, October 8th 2018 the activities of The 6th Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign at Saida'a Municipalties under the title "أنت كل القصة" to shed the light on the importance of early detection, family support, breast re-construction surgery for the woman who chooses.
